4th of July weekend
A month late...here's some pictures of our Independence Day weekend. We went to an amusement park. They had a BMX bike show. These guys were really good.

We went with our friends the Wolfs.
There is a water park in the amusement park. Good thing, it was hot!
Sam loves his friend, Tucker.
Sam fell and scratched himself up. I think it's the only time I've forgotten his rashgaurd.

I captured a couple of sweet moments too. He is such a cutie.
They weren't Disneyland fireworks but they were fun. Sam was so tired he fell asleep after a minutes.

Mack or Monster Truck?
Yesterday we were asking Sam what he thought we should name the baby after giving a few suggestions he decided on Mack (he's really into Mack on Cars right now). This morning he pointed at my belly and started saying Monster Truck, so I guess he's changed his mind. Either way we do live in the South so maybe this baby could be a true southerner with a name like Monster Truck or Mack. Seriously though, Sam got me thinking that I kind of like the name Mackay. For now the baby is MT or Mack.

4th of July parade
We did a little parade for playgroup today. Sam had a lot of fun playing with all the other kids. I made a flag cake for it. Not my best work but I was in a hurry.
One year down!!!
Jared officially started his second year yesterday. Even the schedule still kind of stinks right now, he came home yesterday saying that he can already feel a difference between first year and second year.

The program director had a barbeque to welcome the new first years last week. Here's a couple pictures from that. We had a good time meeting the new guys and hanging out with the old residents in a setting other than the hospital and out of scrubs. Oh, and the food was really good.
Sam and his new buddy. I think they have both learned to wash their hands before eating.
Jared and some of the residents new and old.
Dr. Strauss, the program director. He is a pretty awesome chef.
Giving advice to a soon-to-be "widowed" wife (losing her husband to his first year of residency that is). Also a good (I mean accurate) picture of my growing belly. I'd like to blame it on the baby but according to babycenter.com he's probably only a pound, so it's I pretty sure it's mostly me.
