Random cuteness

We've been spending a lot of time indoors lately. It has been unusually cold in VA so the only time we spend outdoors is from the house to car and from the car to the stores (holiday shopping). Both kids are a little stir crazy and have been trying to find things to fill their time. Caleb plays in the cupboards and sneaks food.
Caleb is the only kid his age I know who will actually wear a hat. He loves them.
Sam has been trying to find as many uses for his rope as he possibly can. He found that it makes a good tow rope.
I don't know where he got the peace sign thing from. I thought it was pretty funny though.

family pictures

We had some family pictures taken a couple of weeks ago when the leaves were really changing colors. Here are a few....(I should also note that I am in the pictures that the blond is me, yes I am blond now)

apple orchard and grandparents

My parents were in DC for the past few months, for my dad's work and so we got pretty spoiled being able to see them just about every weekend for the last 2 1/2 months. They left for home today so I took some pictures with them and the kids before they left. We will miss them!
Last weekend we went down to Charlottesville with the grandparents to the apple orchard. Sam was on a mission to fill his bag with apples and boy did he. Now I need some good apple recipes to use up all the apples we now have sitting on our kitchen counter. Any suggestions???
Here we all are getting ready to pick apples.
Caleb wasn't quite sure what he was supposed to do but he sure looked cute sitting in the grass.
He may not know how to get the apple off the tree but he knows what to do with it and is happy to share.
We met up with our friends, Matt, Debbie, Kylee and Parker.
Sam and Kylee are such good friends. Sam was helping Kylee pick apples.
So this was the best shot I could get with everyone in the picture. I'm not sure what Sam is doing but it's pretty funny.
There's my cute Sam!
Caleb just loves his grandpa and especially loves his hat. He loves wearing Grandpa's hat and gets a huge grin every time it is put on his head.
This picture I just threw in because I think it's really cute. This guy is really loving preschool and learning and will sit for more than 3 seconds at a time now. Yay for preschool and great teachers! I'm so proud of him. He's such a smart kid and growing up way too fast.

Pumpkin patch

Sam had a preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch yesterday. It was a beautiful day, perfect for picking pumpkins, hay rides, feeding goats, duck races, and a picnic lunch.
This is Sam's preschool class out in the pumpkin patch. I think all of these kids are so stinkin' cute.

Sam loves his preschool teacher, Miss Missy. She is so great with him.
I love when Sam is focused on something. He was searching for just the right pumpkin.
Caleb was not sure about the pumpkins or the grass.
Finding the perfect pumpkin is hard, time for a break.
Sam found his pumpkin was ready to get back on the wagon.
We were all trying to get a picture of all the kids peeking the through the bars of the wagon. This was as good as it got.
Sam turning the wheel that sent food up to the goats.
The kids loved the small hay maze. They ran around, jumped on, jumped over the hay, chasing each other and jumping on each other.
Sometimes they didn't clear the hay and this happened. Surprisingly enough this little guy jumped right back up and kept playing.
Dog pile.
Duck races with water pumps. I think Sam could have pumped water all day and would have been happy.
My little goat.

Calling all superheros!

We celebrated Sam's 4th birthday with a superhero party.
We made superhero masks.

Pinned the spider on the spiderman.

This little girl is just too cute not to have a picture in here.

I made all the kids capes to give them extra strength to break the spiderman pinata.
We had cake. (if you can't tell it is spiderman on the side of a building. I started icing it the night before and it looked like a big pink blob when I decided to stop for the night. Thanks to Melissa and Autumn for helping me.
Caleb loves cake and anything sweet.
He also loves to drive. He had a tantrum when Grandpa took him out.
The girls really were superheros pushing the boys around.
Doesn't he look like a superhero?
And we opened presents. Sam had lots of helpers.
We've been practicing making the number four with fingers now he can finally show that he is 4.
I just love this picture. At the end of day Sam was one happy kid.
Thank you Jared, Autumn, Melissa, Debbie and Matt. You guys helped me make at least one kid super happy.
