Pumpkin patch

Sam had a preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch yesterday. It was a beautiful day, perfect for picking pumpkins, hay rides, feeding goats, duck races, and a picnic lunch.
This is Sam's preschool class out in the pumpkin patch. I think all of these kids are so stinkin' cute.

Sam loves his preschool teacher, Miss Missy. She is so great with him.
I love when Sam is focused on something. He was searching for just the right pumpkin.
Caleb was not sure about the pumpkins or the grass.
Finding the perfect pumpkin is hard, time for a break.
Sam found his pumpkin was ready to get back on the wagon.
We were all trying to get a picture of all the kids peeking the through the bars of the wagon. This was as good as it got.
Sam turning the wheel that sent food up to the goats.
The kids loved the small hay maze. They ran around, jumped on, jumped over the hay, chasing each other and jumping on each other.
Sometimes they didn't clear the hay and this happened. Surprisingly enough this little guy jumped right back up and kept playing.
Dog pile.
Duck races with water pumps. I think Sam could have pumped water all day and would have been happy.

Calling all superheros!

We celebrated Sam's 4th birthday with a superhero party.
We made superhero masks.

Pinned the spider on the spiderman.

This little girl is just too cute not to have a picture in here.

I made all the kids capes to give them extra strength to break the spiderman pinata.
We had cake. (if you can't tell it is spiderman on the side of a building. I started icing it the night before and it looked like a big pink blob when I decided to stop for the night. Thanks to Melissa and Autumn for helping me.
Caleb loves cake and anything sweet.
He also loves to drive. He had a tantrum when Grandpa took him out.
The girls really were superheros pushing the boys around.
Doesn't he look like a superhero?
And we opened presents. Sam had lots of helpers.
We've been practicing making the number four with fingers now he can finally show that he is 4.
I just love this picture. At the end of day Sam was one happy kid.
Thank you Jared, Autumn, Melissa, Debbie and Matt. You guys helped me make at least one kid super happy.

"Gentlemen, start your engines!"

We celebrated Jared's 31st birthday last week with a trip to the Richmond Raceway and a race car driving experience. It was really fun to watch him drive, especially sitting in front of pit road.
Orientation and getting suits on.

Sam checking out the race car on victory lane.
Jared getting some last minute instructions.

Get ready. Get set. Go.
Post-race awards ceremony.
And one cute one-year-old.

Caleb's 1st birthday!

As I've said many times, I love this little guy. He has such a sweet disposition and the cutest smile to make one's heart melt. We celebrated his birthday this weekend. He woke up in the morning wanting to wear Grandpa's hat. I guess he was saying I'm a big boy now.

Getting reading to sing happy birthday.
Caleb loved all the attention.
We helped him blow out his candle.
Before.
After.
I had to give him a bath before opening presents. There was cake everywhere.
Sam loves Caleb's presents as much as Caleb does.
We had a great day. Caleb loved it and I'm glad we could have some family and friends there to celebrate with us.
