Christmas in July

Jared finally got a new bike a couple of weeks ago after getting his old bike stolen out of our garage over a year ago. It was like watching a kid tearing open his christmas presents as I watched Jared unwrap his new mountain bike he bought on ebay.

Lake Powell

Jared, Sam and I went to Lake Powell last weekend. Jared has been wanting to take me there for years since I had never been and Lake Powell is a fond part of his childhood. So, when we heard Jared's sister and family would be there we decided to invite ourselves along. I found the desert landscape beautifully set between the bright blue and blue water. Oh, yeah...check out Jared's sweet moves on the wake board.

Mine are pretty good too...I learned the last time I went wakeboarding with our friends Rick and Janae, that if I don't want a major headache from face planting to let go of the rope and I'm getting really good at staying inside the wake.
My goal was to jump the wake and I did it although we don't have a picture to prove it. I never actually landed it but the important thing is that I got air.
Our 7 yr old nephew, Max, took some tips from Jared on how to ski...

Don't forget about Sam...

He spent his time sleeping or in the arms of all his cousins. It was too bad he was teething the whole time. His second little bottom central incisor finally broke the surface the last night there. Poor little guy.

Thanks--Mike and Michele, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay on The Rector Set or Sumertime (I'm not sure which one is the actual name.)

We got to church one Sunday and realized that Jared and Sam were matching so we had to get a picture.

A day in the life of Sam

For breakfast, Sam really likes his bananas and oatmeal. Sometimes when he's still a little tired and likes to rub his eyes his mouth gets in the way and his breakfast ends up all over him.
Sam usually spends most of his days hanging out with Quincy. I babysit Quincy a few days a week so Sam almost always has a buddy to play with.
Sam is getting bigger every day, his new things are scooting backwards, usually ending up under the couch, and screaming. I'll spare you from any sound effects, he's come a long way from his sweet newborn cry.
Some times Sam likes to save part of his lunch for later.
On Fridays Sam comes to work with me and hangs out for a few hours. Work can be pretty exhausting so a nap in the stroller usually helps.

Night time is filled with more play and superman poses. After a long day Sam loves to lay down in his crib and pull his favorite blanket up over his head to fall asleep.
